The basics

What is HomewardFares?

A membership for people who live abroad that emails you when flights home drop well below their usual price. India is the first route we cover, and it is live now. You tell us which airports you fly from and which Indian cities you fly to, our team searches fares on those routes, and when something good turns up a person checks it and we send it to you.

Which countries do you cover?

You can join if you live in United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Germany, Netherlands, Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, United Arab Emirates. Today, deals are for flights home to India, to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, Goa, Pune, Amritsar, Lucknow, Jaipur and Kozhikode. Other routes home are on our waitlist, and we open them in the order people ask for them.

Do you sell flights?

No. We never sell tickets, take payment for flights or hold bookings. Each alert links to the airline or travel site where we saw the fare, and you book with them directly. Your booking, changes and refunds are between you and them.

How do you find deals?

Right now, people on our team search fares on routes from your country to India and compare each price with what that route typically costs for similar dates. When a fare is well below that, someone checks the dates, number of stops, layover times and total price before it goes out. Plenty of cheap fares get rejected because the routing is miserable. We plan to add automated fare searching later, but a person will still check every deal before we send it.

Why was the fare gone when I clicked?

Cheap fares often last only a few hours, sometimes less. Airlines release a small number of seats at a low price and pull them when they sell or when the airline changes its pricing. We send alerts as quickly as we can, but we cannot hold a price for you. If a deal is gone, try nearby dates; the same fare sometimes still shows on other days.

How many emails will I get?

It depends on your airports and how picky you have been with your settings. We only email when there is a deal worth sending, so some weeks you may get none. You can narrow or widen your settings at any time from your account.

Plans and pricing

What is the difference between Free and Standard?

Free members get a smaller selection of deals, and they get them after paid members have had a chance to book. Standard members get every deal we approve for their airports, first.

What does the Family plan cover?

Everything in Standard, plus alerts for up to 3 more people in your household (4 in total), each at their own email address, on one bill.

Do you cover business class?

Not yet. Standard and Family alerts are for economy fares. Premium economy and business class deals will come with a Premium plan, which is not available yet. If you are a member, we will email you when it opens.

Why are prices different in each country?

We charge in your local currency and set prices for each market. Prices are shown before you pay, and your receipt shows any tax.

Trial, renewal and refunds

How does the free trial work?

Paid plans start with a 7-day free trial. You add a card at checkout but are not charged until the trial ends. Cancel before then and you will not be charged at all.

Does my membership renew automatically?

Yes. Paid plans renew every year at the price shown at checkout until you cancel. We email you a reminder about a month before each annual renewal, and a day or so before a free trial ends. You can cancel online from your account in a couple of clicks.

Can I get a refund?

Yes. If you are not happy, email us within 30 days of your first charge and we will refund it in full. No need to explain why.

How do I cancel?

Log in, go to your account, choose Manage billing and then Manage membership. That opens our secure billing page (run by Stripe), where you can cancel. We email you to confirm the cancellation. You keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.

I live in the EU or UK. What about my 14-day cancellation right?

You have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying. Because the service starts straight away, at checkout you ask us to begin immediately and acknowledge that. Our own 30-day refund window is longer than the legal one, so in practice you can cancel for a full refund of your first charge within 30 days.

Coverage

I live somewhere else. Can I still join?

Not yet. We are starting with the countries listed above so we can do them properly. You are welcome to join from one of them if you regularly fly from there.

Will you cover other destinations?

Yes. The waitlist covers the Philippines, Vietnam, West Africa, South Asia, East Asia, East and North Africa, Latin America and the Caribbean, Europe, the UK and the US. We open new routes in the order people ask for them, so join the list for yours.

Do paid plans include deals to anywhere other than India?

Not yet. Paid plans currently cover deals home to India only. The routes on our waitlist are not part of any plan yet, so please do not pay for a plan expecting deals to them. When a new route opens we will say clearly on the pricing page what each plan includes.

What do you do with my data?

We keep what we need to send you deals: your email address, your airports and your preferences. Card details go straight to Stripe; we never see or store them. We do not sell your data. The privacy policy has the details, including how to delete your account.

The full details are in our terms, privacy policy, auto-renewal terms and refund policy.
